Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

In this copy of The Matt Review we will be discussing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. MW2 is an epic, high speed, first person shooter game for the real action junkies. The campaign takes place in various places such as Afghanistan, Moscow, Russia and Washington D.C., but Infinity Ward didn’t stop there. They also added the cooperative game mode called Special Ops. In Special Ops you can take on a variety of missions each in a section of difficulty. You can play with a friend or go solo and if you are new to this kind of game I suggest you play with a friend. Now on to multiplayer. In the online world of MW2 you can rank up, play with friends and unlock guns from the campaign. The prestige system (an online system were you reach the level 70 Commander and then prestige to first prestige level 1)is similar to the one in Call Of Duty World At World and Modern Warfare 1. I recommend this game to kids 11 or older. This game can be bloody, gruesome and cruel. Most of all the bad stuff is in the level titled No Russian where you are a terrorist spy. You go to a Russian airport and have to kill civilians. Have no fear, you can always skip this level. I played this level and it is not fun. Make sure if you get this game and have a younger sibling to not play the game while they’re in your presence. Also the characters tend to curse, but unfortunately you can’t change that. My favorite level is titled Cliffhanger because you get to blow up an enemy base on a secret snowy mountain and the escape by riding a snowmobile! It’s really fun because you get to jump over an abyss and shoot enemies while riding. My favorite online map is Highrise because there are many places to go and has a good mix of long and short distance battle. Here is a trick that lots of people do. In the beginning of a game on Highrise you can shoot people across the map by looking through the front windows. If your new to MW2 the guns I recommend you use the Intervention(sniper rifle), Ump45(sub machine gun)and the Famas (assault rifle). If you like this game I recommend you try these games. Gears of War 2, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty World at War. Also try Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Red Dead Redemption, Secret Service, Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2. These games are all similar in more ways than none. In all of them you kill people so if that’s the game you like than I suggest all of these games. Be sure to consider MW3, Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3, but they’re coming out in November. That’s all for this weeks edition of The Matt Review.
