Call of Duty Black Ops

In this weeks installment of The Matt Review we will be discussing Call of Duty Black Ops.

First lets talk about the all the buzz about this game. Most people said that this game was going to be disappointing and frankly not a good game. I think that is half true. I was disappointed with this game at first. The campaign was cruel and disturbing. The story line was hard to understand. In some levels they showed your character (Mason) being tortured in an electrical chair. You had to play Russian Roulette with a butchers knife. You were almost killed by nova gas twice. On the other hand there were some cool slow-mo scenes such as jumping off a building and in slow-mo shoot your enemies.

Black Ops was made by Treyarch and Activison. If you are the kind of person who likes to find out glitches online stop searching. Here is a really cool glitch on how to get a secret gun. First, go to the level Numbers. Second, as soon as you can move go to the right and you will see a cassette player. Hold x for about a minute. Then when you get the part of the mission where you jump off the building (as I said before) and land in the apartment. Wait for your partners to move the refrigerator. After they move it go in the gun room and go to the left. You will see another cassette player. Hold x again for about a minute and wait until your screen stops shaking and the you will see the secret Thundergun.

Black Ops multiplayer is unique in many ways. Instead of unlocking guns you buy them. You can earn money by leveling up, completing challenges and finishing contracts. You can also make your own emblem with various symbols and characters. You then can put them on your gun. The camouflage system is a bit different too. You can buy any camouflage except gold. The gold camo (camouflage) is a coat of shimmering gold paint. If you ever have the chance to buy it, I suggest you do. There is a type of multiplayer game called wager match. That is a game mode where you can earn money for winning different types of games.

Another cool thing about Black Ops is that you can play Combat Training. Combat Training is a game mode where you can play people controlled by the game. You get to pick the map, the game mode, the score limit and the time limit. It is totally separate from online so you can level up and use different guns.

Last but not least; Zombies. Zombies was brought back from Call of Duty World at War. You can play with friends or online or you could go solo. I recommend you play with friends. I have heard a rumor that you can get the Thundergun. In Zombies the Thundergun is called the Zeuscannon. Here is a tip: on Zombies avoid playing alone.
